I was visiting my parents a couple weeks ago in DeKalb, IL and asked my cousin if her (almost) 5 year old would show c how he uses the potty. I am convinced that peer pressure will do the trick since he is obsessed with big kids. Sure enough a couple days later c announced, "I want to use the potty!" and plopped down on the potty that I TRAINED ON! Yes, my mom still has it and brought it out for our visit. He did it again that day and continued when we got back to Madison. After using his little potty chair several times he decided to use the big potty. I asked him if he wanted to go to the potty and he said yes. I followed him into the bathroom and before I knew it he had put the Elmo potty seat on the toilet and climbed on the Looster Booster (pictured below) and went pee pee. It happened so fast I was in shock! The Looster Booster has been sitting in our bathroom for almost a year and was only used by kids in our playgroup. I don't know if c had ever climbed on top of it. I promised the product's inventor, Monica, I would post a review of the stool on my blog but had to wait until my child actually used it.
I really can't say enough about this product. It's genius! You may be thinking "What's the big deal? It's just a step stool." but that's where you're wrong. The stool wraps around the toilet so the child can step anywhere and it won't tip over. Plus, adults do not have to move it out of the way to go to the bathroom. And the raised lettering makes it slip-proof which helps when your tot really has to go!
Another plus is the packaging--it ships in a huge box and is ready to use right out of the box! No instruction manuals or "Honey, can you put this together for me?" The Looster Booster is also available at stores (see complete list) and retails for $34.99.
If potty training is in your future or you are struggling with the stools you have I highly recommend that you buy the Looster Booster!
